FESTIVAL LEAGUE DARTS RULES 2022/2023 SEASON.

1. All League matches to be played on Fridays only, except for those matches designated by the League Secretary to be played by arrangement and which will be indicated on the League fixture list, and those matches re-arranged under conditions of rules 11 & 32.

2. League matches to consist of 12 games, 4 double games. Game 1 leg only 701. Double start and finish. To be followed by 8 singles games. Game 1 leg only 501. Double start and finish. Most wins and games in least darts will count in singles only with 101's and over. Highest start and finish and 180's to count in both singles and doubles. (Captains to pick teams with up to 16 players being available to play. Completed draw to be made up before first game on).

3. Clubs on match night must play 8 members, failing to fulfill will count as losing game. When less than 8 players present: if only 7 players or less, opposing team to put same number of players into draw, with remaining games to count to team with complete 8 members team present.

4. One member from each club to act as marker and scorer.

5. Visiting club to start first game thereafter alternatively.

6. Toe rail fixed to floor, 2" thick, 7' 9 1/4" (i e 2.37 metres) throw. No objection to player standing behind. Dartboard to be fixed 5' 8" from bull to floor. No elm boards will be allowed in this league.

7. Ordinary marking board and chalk to be used. Automatic machines to be allowed. All automatic machines must show at least last five scores recorded, but how to 'get out' feature must not be used.

8. Any club playing ineligible players loses two points from league, games to stand, except for ineligible players, these games awarded to opposing team. Fine £10.

9. Players registered for one club cannot be transferred to join another club after the first six weeks of the league start.

10. A player can ask and be told by the marker what number he has scored and what he requires, but not how to get same. Markers score to count when game shot required. Players to pull their own darts during league games.

11. Club to adhere to playing nights as printed, the only alteration that can be allowed is for any special occasion of their club or association in which case at least one weeks notice MUST to be given to club and league secretary. League committee to fix date for match if teams fail to agree. Failing to fulfill fixtures, the offending side is penalised 12-0 and 2 points awarded to opponents. A £40 FINE to be imposed for teams who fail to fulfill fixture or change match without consulting league secretary. 

12. Results of matches to be signed by both captains, must be in ink, all scores of 101 and over, player completing game with 18 darts and under, games shots, highest finish and high starts. (As stated in rule 2).

13. Result cards to reach League Secretary not later than Monday following the match.

14. League disputes or protests or anything not covered by rules will be discussed by the committee or quorum and their decision is final. That if a complaint by letter is received by the league, that club making complaint must be represented at committee meeting by the dart club secretary or assistant. Failing this, a registered member of that team to back up complaint by letter. Letter must be received in advance of meeting to give respondents time to be represented also.    

15. The inner bull, 50 counts as double 25 and can finish game.

16. League tables rules, 2 points win, 1 point draw. Best average can decide championship.

17. Dart boards must be in good condition, double and trebles must be regulation size. Bright light must be fixed over board.

18. Registration fees to be £60.00 per team. This covers all Leagues competitions, and must be paid on final acceptance registration night. Failure to do so will be taken as non-registration.

19. Players can be registered on the night of playing, if not played for another team.

20. Any club withdrawing from league all points declared void.

21. Home team captain to approach visiting captain and team cards to be completed by 8.15 unless mutually agreed by captains. Thereafter no alterations. Matches to be started by 8.30.

22. That no player can be signed on for new club, after the last match has been played in the first half of the season.

23. All rules will be enforced.

24. Eric Goreham memorial League Knockout Cup/Barry Moore Memorial Shield to consist of 9 games, 4 doubles, 2 trebles, 2 fours, an one team of 8 in that order. Games to be played 701, 701, 801, 1001 respectively. Matches to consist of one leg only and can be played on night of home team. Except final which will be played on finals night. Double start in all games. Contact to be made by the home secretaries in arranging games, at the latest during the first week of month game to be played in. Toss for start of first game thereafter alternately, if scores are level, toss again for start of 8 game. teams failing to fulfill K.O. cup fixtures will be imposed with a £20 fine. League K.O. cup will be competed for by first and second division clubs with the Barry Moore Shield being played for by third division teams only.

25. Any proceedings of alteration of rules must be made in writing to secretary, 28 days before Annual General Meeting, to be held within the last week of May or the first three weeks of June. Both proposer and seconder to be present at A.G.M of which will be from separate teams.

26. Players name must be drawn from a bag.

27. In doubles and trebles competitions players may be named on night of competitions. In Secretaries, Captains and Chairmans Cup competitions deputy also to be named at start of season with view of playing if first official is unavailable to play. League singles competition, one substitute player allowed per team.

28. That this League as a self supporting League will remain men only.

29. That in any League competitions any player failing to complete the event which he has started without good reason shall be suspended from all competitions the next season he is registered in the League.

30. Promotion and relegation to be on a two up two down basis. if any teams withdraw etc, relegated teams to stay up in order of relegation.

31. Any teams taking advantage of the league facilities but not making sufficient effort to contribute towards the league fund raising actions shall be liable to suspension from or barring from the Festival Darts League, committee to decide. 

32. That no K.O.cup match or re-arranged League match to be arranged on the night of any any League function (i.e. meetings, League competitions).

33. That in the Christmas Draw all unsold tickets and counterfoils to be returned by date given on ticket. Failing to comply teams must pay for unaccounted for tickets.

34. Most wins competition to be competed for by one player only from each club who has obtained most wins within his team, players tying to play-off internally. No substitutes will be allowed.

35. That all teams to play each other once, then a reverse of first half fixtures for return matches. 

36. That teams failing to fulfill  a complete team on two or more occasions will be brought to he attention of the League quorum.

37. That this League should be confined to an area confining within the boundary areas of Kessingland, Carlton, and Corton.

38. The league has no minimum age limit, but if your team has under 18's it is the responsibility of the team to contact the licensee of any venue to confirm the pub rules on under 18's

39. Any club fined more than three times during the season to be brought to the attention of the league quorum.

40. If the League committee feels that the conduct of any team warrants a fine, for whatever reason, they have the power to do so.

41. The League wishes that no mobile phones to be taken by persons to the oche whilst playing, chalking or calling a game.

42. That all teams must stay and complete season at home venue where registered at the start of season. The only exception will be closure of that venue or some exceptional circumstances.

43. That all team failing to provide competitors for any league competitions will be fined £5 for each event they fail to compete in. Where two representatives and only one plays no fine incurred.

44. Any persons found to falsify result cards shall be banned and fined by league committee.
