After serious financial problems in 1958, Eric Goreham bailed the league out and took command as League Chairman for the next thirty years until his sudden death in 1988. This started the rise of the league into the towns premier darts league it is today. The Mayor, Alderman Frank Jones, became the League President until his death in 1990 when his son Frank jnr was elected as president until his retirement in 2008.

In the early sixties Ken Preece took over as Secretary / Treasurer. In 1968 stood down to Assistant Secretary and Colin Smith was elected and took over the reins. During his forty years in office he has seen the league completely take off from twelve teams in one division to the present forty eight teams in three divisions and over eight hundred players registered yearly. In 2008 Colin stood down and David Tasker was elected to office.

During the latter years John Copsey stepped in as Chairman following Eric Gorehams sudden death. John put in tremendous time and effort for the next several years. When he stepped down the popular Barry Moore filled his shoes for just twenty months until his sudden untimely death in 1999. This is when Paul Weavers took the helm as Chairman. Following his stint as Secretary Ken Preece remained as Assistant Secretary giving the league some twenty years of valuable service, on his retirement David Read took the role until his retirement in 2008.

At the end of 2009/10 season Paul Weavers decided to stand down as Chairman after twelve years in office and the popular Paul Jervis taking over the chairmanship with Barry Dale being voted in as his assistant.
